Ch-ch-ch-ch-Changes!

To quote Mr. David Bowie, "Time to make a change."

Change number one:
The Rubberband Press Comics website has been taken down for revising. There is no set time-table for the relaunch, but you are encouraged to check back here and on our MySpace page for developments in the hypertext face of Rubberband Press Comics.

Change number two:
MALO moves from Rubberband Press Comics to Terran Studios. A full press release will be posted here once full details are available regarding this move.

Rubberband Press Comics is committed to continuing to offer fine graphic products to stimulate your lobes. Stick with us.

Free Comic Book Day, part 2: Us and the neighbors

Here are more photos from our Free Comic Book Day outing to Bob's Comics. We were very lucky to be among some very talented individuals - all of us there to represent and promote our work to a store full of people with a ravenous appetite for comic books. Our fellow exhibitors included:

Mike Fisher, illustrator for Starlog Magazine and creator of Big Orbit Comics!

Big Epsilon's Kris Kidd, here with Rubberband Press Comics Jr. partner: Jon Paul Espino.

Marvel Comics alumni, Sam De La Rosa.

...and then there's us:

Dave Olivarez, MALO artist.

Dan Garcia, MALO writer/letterer.

Jon Paul Espino, MR. STICKMAN creator.

...and a few guests:

When all was said and done, it was a great Free Comic Book Day! A few more photos coming soon.
Cheers!

Fun at Free Comic Book Day

It was a day well spent at Bob's Comics in San Antonio, Texas. Mr. Bob knows how to throw a party and we have pictures to prove it. Enjoy!

The man himself, Bob.

The line ran from one end of the store to the other...

...like a comic book soup line!

Piles and piles of free comics.

A well-deserved title!

It was wall-to-wall people in the store.

More photos to follow.
Cheers!

The Day After... Eckman Collectible Show Aftermath

The MALO crew and Rubberband Press Comics as a whole would like to extend many thanks to Mr. Dale Eckman for another successful show.  We would also like to thank everyone who stopped by the table and bought a book, a sketch, or just parked and chatted for a while.

Our special thanks to Mr. John Paul Espino for joining us again and bringing MR. STICKMAN along for all of the fun and excitement.  Mr. Espino sold three sketches yesterday, and is well on his way to comic creator stardom.

We will be posting photos soon, so check back.

STAPLE! 2007

For the first time in many years, the entire Rubberband Press Comics crew was at one place, at one time - STAPLE!: The Independent Media Expo in Austin, Texas on Saturday, March 3, 2007.

The show was a tremendous success for both creative teams: Mikey and Andy of LONELY IN BLACK, and Dave and Dan of MALO. Below is just a sampling of images taken by MALO writer/letterer, Dan Garcia. For more images go to WORDS FROM THAT DAMN WRITER, Dan's blog and check the Rubberband Press Comics MySpace page for images taken by other members of the crew - coming soon.

The crews of LONELY IN BLACK and MALO would like to thank everyone that stopped by our table, all of our returning friends, all of our new friends, and a very special thanks to Chris "Uncle Staple" Nicholas and the fine coordinators of the STAPLE! event. See you all next year!
